Membership of BEMCA includes manufacturers and service providers employing advanced technologies for metering and data communications for the home automation industries.

Members cover almost all UK electric meter sales including electronic, pre-payment and electro-mechanical products within these communications media: mains communication on the electricity network, telephonic and radio means.

The association provides a high level of policy making and co-ordination in the utility metering and building communications industries and is the primary group forwarding the development of smart metering in the UK.
